Why Worrying is Worthless!

Day 39 Matthew 6:27

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life.”

Jesus adds with a touch of irony, what can worry give you anyways?  It is not a good use of your time or energy. Why is worry so worthless?

    1. It can damage your health.
           2. I can consume your thoughts
    3. Negatively affect your close relationships
    4. Disrupt your productivity
    5. Reduce your ability to trust God

Think of how much time you spend worrying and how you could use that time to think about things that productive and joyful. In the end, worry can also paralyze us with fear and affect our ability to step out in faith.  So why worry?  Think about it. And think about how many times God has provided for you in the past.  Spend some time today giving one specific worry up to God. Use that new free time to praise God and thank God for what He has provided for you in Christ, and then asking him for what you need today!

Heavenly Father, you tell us to come unto you when we are burdened and you will give us rest for our soul.  May we rest that you will provide for us what we need, when we need it. Amen.
